On Thursday, 21st August, school will finish early at 1.00 pm due to a Paid Union Meeting (PUM) for NZEI Te Riu Roa members. This meeting is part of the lawful collective bargaining process for teachers, support staff, and principals.
To support our teaching and support staff in attending this important meeting, we strongly encourage all whānau to collect their children at 1.00 pm. This is one way we can show our appreciation for the incredible mahi our staff do every day.
Key Information:
Early Finish Time: 1.00 pm, Thursday 21st August
Supervision:
Minimal supervision will be available for children who are unable to be collected. This will be provided by a skeleton staff and only where absolutely necessary. If you require supervision for your child, please email the school office (office@olok.school.nz) by Thursday, 14th August to confirm.
Waikanae School Bus:
Please note that there will be NO Waikanae bus service on the afternoon of Thursday 21 August, at either the early finish time (1.00pm) OR the usual time.
This Paid Union Meeting gives our staff the opportunity to stay informed about negotiations and contribute meaningfully to the collective agreement process. Their involvement ensures that union representatives can advocate with a strong, united voice when engaging with the Ministry.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
