Kia ora whānau,
The Our Lady of Kāpiti School Board met earlier this month for our second hui of the year. It was a pleasure to welcome our newest board member, David Orchard – a local business owner and parent. I had the chance to meet with David earlier this year for a kōrero, and I’m really looking forward to the experience and insight he brings, especially in the youth development space. He’s full of great ideas and is passionate about supporting the future of our kura.
We also farewelled Viv as she begins her sabbatical – we wish her all the very best on this exciting journey. While Viv is away, Sose Annandale has kindly stepped into a caretaking role and will be working closely with our Senior Leadership Team. Sose brings a wealth of experience in education, and I’m looking forward to working alongside her in the coming weeks.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Gala such a wonderful success. Whether you ran a stall, prepared food, provided transport, donated goods, packed up on the day — or are still chasing up raffle prize deliveries — fa’afetai tele lava! Your support and mahi are truly appreciated.
A special shout-out to Val and Nicole for leading the charge and coordinating all the moving parts behind the scenes. Your dedication made Gala Day an absolute standout!
Our next Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 28 April at 6:30pm. If you have any questions or thoughts you’d like to share, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via bot@olok.school.nz.
