Next week marks the start of Pasifika Language Weeks, and we will be celebrating Samoan language, culture, and identity at our school.

We’ll finish the week on Friday with a Lavalava Day and ask students to bring a lavalava or sarong (it doesn’t have to be Samoan) to wear over their uniforms.

In the afternoon, we have some fun activities planned, supported by our Samoan community, parents, and caregivers. If you’d like to join us, come along and enjoy the festivities!

TOMORROW, Friday 30 May, is a Teacher Only Day!

 While our teachers will be hard at work at Kāpiti College alongside staff from several other local schools, your children will enjoy a well-deserved day off.

Yesterday we came together as a school to celebrate Catholic Schools Day 2025 – a special opportunity to reflect on and give thanks for the blessings of a Catholic education.

This year’s theme, “Shine like stars in the world: E tīaho ana koe hei rama i te ao,” reminded us of the light we are called to be in our communities, and the unique role Catholic schools play in nurturing faith, values, and a strong sense of whānau.

We began the day with a beautiful liturgy, giving thanks for the gift of our school and our Catholic identity. Students then took part in a variety of buddy class activities, including collaborative art, and fun games, helping strengthen the tuakana-teina relationships across the school.

It was a joyful day filled with connection, creativity, and gratitude – a true celebration of what makes our Catholic school so special.

On Thursday 22 May, our junior classes hosted a Merit Assembly.

Merit Certificates were awarded by the classroom teachers to the following students;
Kahlō, Mabel, Yoella, Luca B, Zazzie, Ella G, Tait, Tennyson, Ella B, Jack, Scarlett, Archie A, Molly B, Tobias, Veitriz, Orion, Evanlyn, Kekeli, Ollie G, Chris, Ysabelle, Jesse D R, Kahlia, Pyper, Staetham, Ciarán, Jaimee, Linda, Austin, Keevah and Fleur.
 
A huge congratulations to Maggie Grigg who received a Principal's Pencil in recognition of her efforts in keeping our school clean and green.

We kindly ask all parents and caregivers to take extra care when using the school car park, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

We’ve had a few recent instances where vehicles have reversed over the pedestrian crossing. This creates a serious safety risk for our tamariki and their whānau. Please do not reverse in the drop-off zone. It should only take a moment of waiting for a car in front of you to move.  Please also, always give way to pedestrians using the crossing. 

A gentle reminder that the drop-off zone is strictly for quick stops only and is only to be used in the morning. This area is designed to keep traffic flowing and to ensure the safety of everyone using the car park. If you need to walk your child in, chat with other caregivers, or take some extra time getting your child ready, please use a designated parking space rather than the drop-off zone. The ONLY exception to this are the licenced after/before school care providers.
